Come learn bouldering basics with us! If you are new to bouldering, we'll introduce some tips and tricks for getting on the walls and climbing your best. Come prepared to learn about the sport of bouldering and practice some new skills at our facility. We’ll teach you how to navigate the gym, how to fall in a controlled manner, and how to have fun on your first attempt at a new activity!

boulder primer
Not your first time in the gym, but still pretty new to climbing? Looking for more structure around learning how to boulder and improve as a climber? Boulder Primer is the home for you! Coach Milo will lead you through the fundamentals such as learning basic climbing movement and terms, finding challenging projects, and a variety of fun drills and exercises to improve your climbing — all while emphasizing having fun while trying hard. Primer is also a great place to meet new climbing partners, climbing with likeminded individuals always pushes us to get better, stronger, and have more fun!
Class size is limited to ensure that each climber gets lots of personalized attention -- Primer fills up, so don't hesitate to sign up.

boulder squad
Boulder Squad is our adult training team, where you’ll attend weekly practices with other motivated climbers to pursue new levels as athletes. With an emphasis on trying hard with an analytical, process-driven approach, Coach Milo will guide you through training structure and exercises, technique drills, sending tactics, and more. We’ll teach you not to just climb hard, but also to climb smart — maximizing the knowledge and strength you already have.
This specific spring session will hone in on all the training, tactics, and technical work that go into maximizing your performance in preparation for our yearly competition, the Uplift Downgrade in June. Whether or not you're an avid comp climber, however, this session will cover a multitude of different areas and help push you to the next level!
The other climbers you train with will become your Squad, as we push each other to keep on trying hard! Let’s push past our plateaus together.
Team size is limited to ensure each climber gets personalized coaching. Squad fills up, so don’t hesitate to sign up!

Milo Forbes
Milo Forbes has been an avid climber for the last seven years, stepping into the world of coaching soon after falling in love with his original home gym in the Bay Area, Planet Granite. After moving to the Seattle area to get his Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Washington, he spent every minute of his free time climbing in the local gyms and in his favorite outdoor spots, Gold Bar and Leavenworth.
Milo takes a critical and analytical approach to coaching, and believes that instilling a passion for problem solving and critical thinking in all climbers can help them achieve their climbing goals. Milo invests in climbers on a personal level — learning their individual strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations — in order to set them up for success. He strives to ensure that his climbers not only learn more about the movement of the sport, but about who they are.
We’re also excited to have partnered with Dr. Anna Chang, DPT, CPT at Onsight Physical Therapy for monthly training opportunities at Uplift.
Onsight PT
Dr. Anna Chang, DPT, CPT received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound in 2020 and has been climbing since 2017. It was during school where she learned to break down the body mechanics of climbing and provide targeted strength training for people from all physical backgrounds. She then earned her certification in personal training because she wanted to focus on functional movement—addressing the climbing from a holistic view while working on strengths and weaknesses.
Anna will be at Uplift twice a month for regular training opportunities, and can otherwise be found at her space in Tacoma. She’ll be climbing wherever there’s sunshine on the weekends. Anna loves all kinds of climbing and believes in making the sport accessible to all.

We understand that life happens and sometimes our calendars don’t work out the way we want them to. We’ll do our best to be as accommodating as possible.
Class Cancellation Policy
Class cancellation/refund requests can be made up to 10 days before class begins.
Any cancellations made within 10 days will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
We cannot offer cancellations/refunds within 5 days of class, with the exception of medical situations.
Coaching Cancellation Policy
Any cancellations or reschedules done with a 24 hour notice can be honored free of charge.
Any reschedules with a 12 hour notice will be charged a $15 fee.
Any cancellations with a 12 hour notice will be charged a $30 fee.
No cancellations or reschedules within 12 hours.
Prepaid coaching sessions must be used within 1 year of purchase.
